Metadata Field Management

Manage default and custom metadata fields in your Credo AI tenant via the Fields GUI in the Governance Center.

Manage Default & Custom Fields in the Governance Center

The Fields tab of the Governance Center enables admin users to manage the metadata fields that are available on Use Cases across your Credo AI tenant. Via the Fields tab, you can:

  • Hide default metadata fields: you can hide any of the out-of-the-box metadata fields in the Credo AI tenant (Domain; Region; Industry; and AI Type). If you hide a default field, you won't get any recommendations of risk scenarios or Policy Packs based on that field anymore. (You can unhide the field to enable those recommendations again.)
  • Edit Domain options: the "Domain" default metadata field is the only default field for which admin users can edit the options, adding new custom domains to the list; to edit Domain options, simply click the editing icon next to the Domains field in the Fields list.
  • Create new custom metadata fields: you can create new custom metadata fields by clicking the "New Field" button in the top right corner of the Fields tab; simply give the field a name and select the type of field, and provide possible options (if relevant). This field will then be available on all Use Cases in your tenant.
  • Edit existing custom metadata fields: you can edit existing custom fields, including changing the field name, type, and options. Simply click the edit button next to the custom field.

Limitations of Field Management

There are several current limitations with field management via the Fields GUI that you should be aware of as you make changes to default and custom fields:

  • If you delete a custom field, any data that has been provided for that custom field for Use Cases in the tenant will be deleted; you cannot undo this action.
  • If you delete a custom field, any triggers & actions that are based on that field will become non-functional, but they won't be deleted, so you will still see these old triggers & actions from the Questionnaire or Triggers & Actions GUI.
  • If you hide a default field, any data that has been provided for that default field for Use Cases in the tenant will also be hidden; if you "unhide" the default field, the data will come back.
