Learn more about what it means for an asset to be deprecated in the Credo AI Governance Platform.
What does it mean for an asset to be deprecated?
When an out-of-the-box asset provided by Credo AI—risk scenarios, controls, and Policy Packs—are marked as deprecated, it means that Credo AI is no longer going to maintain support for this asset, and that it will be removed from the out-of-the-box library of assets available in your Credo AI tenant.
Assets will be marked as deprecated as a warning that Credo AI is discontinuing support for these assets out-of-the-box. After a period of time, we will archive deprecated assets, thereby removing them from the Credo AI out-of-the-box asset library.
What happens when an asset is deprecated & archived?
An out-of-the-box asset that has been deprecated will automatically be converted to a custom asset instead of an out-of-the-box asset, and the asset is archived. This means that the asset will still be viewable in your Credo AI tenant, but it will now appear in your custom asset library under the "archived" tab.
The asset will remain applied to any and all Use Cases it has already been applied to, and any data that has been attached to the asset (i.e. evidence that has been uploaded to the control) will remain attached. There should be no impact to users who are interacting with the Use Case and the asset in the context of the Use Case.
If the asset is being used by automations (i.e. you have an automation configured that automatically applies the asset to a Use Case based on a questionnaire answer), those automations will still work and apply the custom asset to your Use Cases moving forward.
